The bridge of a well-known song says “I’ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross”.

Easter is almost here and I’ve been drawn to Isaiah chapter 53, where Isaiah writes a revelation of what will happen to Jesus and the significance of that, years before it happens. The whole chapter is worth a read, especially when you read this side by side with John chapter 19.

I once watched the film “The Passion of the Christ” at a cinema. At the point where they depicted Jesus being whipped, tears rolled down my cheeks and I nearly choked on my popcorn.

I haven’t been able to watch it again, but sometimes I think maybe I should as a reminder of what Jesus went through for me.

It can be very easy, to go through the motions of celebrating Easter every year, eating the Easter eggs. (Yum), two Bank holidays (Yay!), but what’s it really all about?…
