In Remembrance – A tribute to former President David Bicknell:
In this month where we traditionally reflect upon the life and service of former colleagues, we take a moment to pay tribute to former CPA President David Bicknell. David was President of CPA during its centenary year of 1983. His funeral was on 1st October 2025.
A member since he joined the Met Police in May 1954, David met his wife Jill in late 1955 when he, as part of a CPA team, led a meeting she was strongly encouraged to attend by her Mum! They married a year later and have three children; his older daughter Julia attended the 140th anniversary service: “I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for CPA, and its events and members were very much part of my daily childhood and young adulthood“…
