CPA Stepping up to the Future with IT – Opportunity

01 Sep 2023

CPA have an exciting opportunity that you could potentially help with. We are undertaking two projects in the next 18 months:

  1. Utilising Microsoft 365 Suite of Applications
  2. Digitising the back issues of On and Off Duty

CPA staff team have the full suite of Microsoft 365 products including MS TEAMS and SharePoint. The issue is we have limited experience and wonder if either you or anyone in your Branch has IT skills that could help us climb the learning curve of how SharePoint works and its interconnectivity with other MS products. Also, how we can move from Zoom to TEAMS, keeping the Chat Open and sharing documents. We know the functionality is there, we just don’t know where to start to begin leveraging the opportunities.

The Police Service in the UK is now largely using the MS 365 suite of products and it will be an environment that will allow us to be on common ground with you. Improving communication opportunities.

We could pay for a consultant, but thought that we would open it up to the CPA family first, to see if someone with the relevant knowledge and skills would be prepared to donate a day – to further God’s Kingdom work in the Police Service of the UK.

Secondly, we are rationalising all of our storage both in the office and virtually. We have been reviewing all of our stored records. Amongst these are over a century of On and Off Duty magazines going back to the first edition in 1883. We wondered if there was any of your Branch members (retired or otherwise), who may be interested in a project to help us to digitise our On and Off Duty magazines? These could then be uploaded to the internet for all to enjoy. We would seek support with training as necessary and equipment to enable this. All we would need is time and passion. Ideally someone who could easily commute to the office in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, but this could be discussed.

Both projects are very much at the initial stages. Do you know someone that could help? Could you help? Contact Tony by email at [email protected]
