The atmosphere was truly festive at our well attended “Together At Christmas” event on Monday 19th December.
The event was opened by the Chief Constable who thanked everyone across the force who work so hard all year round to support our communities whilst giving special mention to our families for the support and understanding they provide to their loved ones whilst the PCC, Rupert Mathews, spoke of looking forward to a night of festive enjoyment.
Prayers were led by lead chaplain David Lindo and readings were delivered by Tony Gale, Insp Nadia Rana and Michelle Commons. The force Choir led everyone in singing Christmas songs and carols – I am certain that most left with Feliz Navidad still playing in their heads.
The evening was made complete with special performances from colleagues from SSD’s Ch.Insp Siobhan Gorman who read an SSD rendition of ‘Twas a Night Before Christmas! Something about the Chief and Red Nose Reindeer and the Exec board and sleighing!! Hilarious ! The Chief took it in good spirits of course ???? …
Amazing poem by the Diversity Inclusion Unit and a beautiful performance by our PLOD officers as well as duets by CPA Co-chair and CMD colleague Sarah Kirton and solo by the CPA Chair.
The raffle held in aid of COPS raised an amazing £175 – thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets in support of this amazing charity.
Wishing you and you’re a very Merry Christmas and a Truly Prosperous New Year!
