Trustees Decision to Expand Operations in Support of New Growth
The Trustee’s meeting on Monday 25th September was very productive, Jonathan Middleton, the President of CPA Northern Ireland was voted in as our newest Trustee, and we said goodbye to Trustee Harry Pearson, who is stepping down from the CPA Executive following 25 years of service at various levels in the Charity. Many thanks go to Harry for his faithful service.
Addtionally, two milestone decisions were made:
Firstly, Trustees authorised our new Branch Leadership induction process to include the ability to make an interim executive approval of future leaders. This means, a minimum of 3 executive CPA officers can provisionally approve a new Branch Lead or Deputy Lead on the receipt of:
(a) A proposal for a prospective Leader/ Deputy Leader; plus
(b) A testimony/biography from a prospective Leader/ Deputy Leader.
Which would allow ChurchSuite access for the new Leader to contact and administrate the Branch pending confirmation by a CPA Council. This has been a barrier until now as Council meetings are only held at conferences 6 months apart – and we currently have 19 new Leaders in the wings for approval at the Leader’s Council.
Exciting isn’t it? CPA is growing at an increasing rate and new people are stepping up.
Secondly, in order to meet this increased flow of members and leaders, Trustees authorised this second item.
I have the go ahead to advertise for and recruit a Regional Network Manager (RNM) and two more Regional Co-ordinators (RCs) on the basis of a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. To support you in your functions as CPA continue to grow. So if you are coming up to retirement or you know someone who is retiring or just has retired, then let them know to watch this space.
The RNM post will be 16 hours a week working to support and develop Regional Co-ordinators in support of Branches and Branch Leadership Teams as we role out an 18 month Strategy of support and activities at Leader’s Conference.
The Regional Co-ordinators will be 2 x part-time posts of 7.5 hours per week at National Working Wage.
One other decision was made – to buy all the Leader’s a drink to celebrate 140 years of CPA!
So please don’t hang around – get booked on to Leader’s Conference, have a drink on us, be celebrated and hear the news first!
